Update in Relation To the 5-arm Junction

At this weeks area committe the following was placed in the name of Councillors Paul McAuliffe and David Costello

That the North West Area Committee strongly oppose the Traffic Department's proposal to make McKee Avenue 'entry only' from Finglas Village and call on the City Council to cease the process without delay.

The following report was presented:

The Environment and Transportation Department believe that there is an overall support of the scheme as it will bring significant improvements to the public realm in the village, provide improved and safe pedestrian crossings in the village, improve traffic flows in the village as well as provide safe pedestrian linkage to Lidl and Aldi.

Dublin City Council will consult with the National Transport Authority on options for limiting the restrictions on McKee Avenue. The results of the review will be presented at the December North West Area Committee meeting.

In order to ensure that there is no undue delay to the implementation of the project, the liaison will be done in parallel to the construction works. The construction works are scheduled for completion in May 2015.
