On wednesday 3rd of July 2013 Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin TD was welcomed to Finglas by FF local area rep David Costello. Micheal was in Finglas to introduce David Costello as the new face of Fianna Fáil in Finglas. Over the last number of years Micheal has been overseeing a process of renewal within Fianna Fáil and as part of this process he has pushed for new young faces to come forward to represent the party throughout the country. In Jan 2012 David Costello was appointed to the position FF local area rep for Finglas and now plans to run in next years local elections to represent the Cabra-Finglas Local Electoral Area (LEA).
David Costello FF Area Rep. Said: "It was great to have Deputy Martin out, it gave me the opportunity to
make him aware of the specific problems faced by the people of Finglas. Micheal
and I spent two and a half hours meeting with residents on the doors step in
the Mellows and Cappagh area of Finglas.”
“Over all the response was very positive. Although, a number of issues kept
cropping up on the doors. They included: delays in processing Housing
Adaptation Grant for People with Disabilities, the economy, unemployment, road
safety and illegal dumping.”
“On Mellows road we met with local resident Margaret O'Donnell who had
specific concerns about the state St. Paul’s Cemetery, Glasnevin.”
"Before departing for cork Micheal dropped by Deniros restaurant in Finglas
Village for a bite to eat."
