Tolka Valley Park

Dublin City Council were awarded €66,791 through the sports capital programme for the development of the soccer pitches in Tolka Valley Park. The money will be spent on improving drainage on the existing soccer pitches with the possible development of a pitch to be used by Erin's Isle GAA club.

Fianna Fáil Local Area Rep David Costello said, “Improvement works on the pitches in Tolka Valley Park are long over due. When finished it will be a great facility for the residents of Finglas south and for Finglas as a whole.”

“I would like to congratulate all sports clubs who were awarded sports capital grants in the Finglas/Ballymun area. Including Ballymun Civic Centre (€192,095), Dublin City Council, Finglas Youth Resource Centre (€15,231) and Willows FC (€22,184).”

“ The total allocation to Finglas and Ballymun represents less than 1% of the total allocation of funds (€30,000, 000). This news, while fantastic for all groups who received the grant will come as a blow to the many unsuccessful applicants in the area. “
